The sun was shinning bright, and the rain took a pause on Tuesday, April 22nd as Kentwood Public Schools broke ground on the building of the new Multipurpose Indoor Facility! This facility is apart of the 2021 bond that was passed by community voters. It will serve various students, staff, and the community for arts, athletics, STEM, and more! Check out some photos below.

Students, Staff, the KPS Board of Education, and our construction and architect partners (Owen-Ames-Kimball and GMB) gathered to break ground on this future facility.

Facility Details

This state-of-the-art facility is going to be 107,000 total sq. ft. and will serve as a hub for athletics, recreation, educational programming, and large community and school gatherings. The projected cost is $28 million of the $192 million bond that was passed in 2021. This facility will offer flexible space designed to support a wide range of activities and events.

Thank you once again to the amazing Kentwood community for making the improvement of our facilities possible and giving our students spaces to thrive!

Stay tuned for more updates on this project!
